Dalgona: The Korean way to upgrade your coffee!

Dalgona: Die koreanische Art, deinen Kaffee aufzuwerten!

Dalgona coffee is a special coffee specialty made from sugar, instant coffee and milk that became famous all over the world from South Korea in early 2020. Since it can be made at home and the Corona pandemic in early 2020 meant that many more people stayed at home than usual, it is sometimes referred to as "quarantine coffee". The name "Dalgona coffee" came about because the finished coffee looks similar to the Korean Dalgona biscuit.

Dalgona Coffee Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Sugar
  • Instant coffee
  • hot water
  • milk
  • Ice cubes
  • chopped almonds (optional)

Tools :

  • Whisk or milk frother
  • Bowl
  • Coffee glass

Preparation:

  1. Mix sugar, instant coffee and hot water in the bowl in equal volume ratios. A good amount is 5 teaspoons per ingredient.
  2. Beat the mixture with a whisk or milk frother until stiff. Yes, it's a bit of a struggle. You're done when you can turn the bowl over without the contents spilling out.
  3. Fill the glass with ice cubes and pour milk over it. Now add the finished Dalgona coffee cream on top! If you want, you can sprinkle chopped almonds on the cream.
  4. Have fun enjoying!
